Magico+/ Excels Across the Disciplines to win TheraPlate Peak Performance Award

Magico+/ Excels Across the Disciplines to win TheraPlate Peak Performance Award

Nampa, ID (October 26, 2016) – Most horses are gifted in one or two disciplines, but the Arabian stallion Magico+/ throws traditional notions of what a successful mount looks (and acts) like right out the window.

The 2009 small-but-mightystud, by Guapo Chico out of LC Felicia, proved himself an extraordinary horse during the recent 14th annual Sport Horse National Arabian & Half-Arabian Championship Horse Show. Magico+/ tackled classes in Hunters, Jumpers, Dressage, and Western, capturing multiple championship titles, such as the National Champion title in Green Working Hunters and in Arabian Hunter Hack ATR. He also earned Reserve National Champion in Open Hunter Hack, Amateur Hunter Hack, and Speed Jumper, and placed in the top ten in two other classes.

Magico+/’s abundantly apparent fitness and eagerness to perform, in addition to his accolades in most of his classes, earned him the TheraPlate Peak Performance Award at the Nampa, Idaho event. TheraPlate Revolution Therapy Platforms, the Official Therapy Plate of the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF), presents this award at major shows and circuits throughout the year to honor horses that uphold the company’s priorities of soundness, fitness, and health.

Magico+/’s impressive results came as little surprise to his owner, Roland Lewis, and his riders – who know Magico+/ to be a wonder horse who loves to work, no matter the task is at hand. “He’s a horse who wants to work and he likes to work, but then he also knows how to preserve himself, which comes in handy for demanding shows like the Sport Horse Nationals,” said Lewis. At the Sport Horse Nationals, Magico+/ was competed by Julia Werner-Mahoney, Michelle Mahoney, and Skye Gragg.

Michelle Mahoney said, “He’s an amazing stud horse. He comes out every day and he’s happy to do his job. He’s just one of a kind.”

When the judges awarded Magico+/ with the TheraPlate Peak Performance Award ribbon and trophy, Mahoney was especially excited, as she actually uses a TheraPlate to help keep her horses in top form. “The TheraPlate is awesome,” she said.“I’ve used it for a little bit of everything. I use it to keep the performance horses fit and to heal if any horse has an injury.”

Magico+/’s fitness is also improved by his busy schedule. Whether he’s out playing in the field, working in the ring, or on the hot walker, Magico+/ is one active stallion. This helps to keep him in shape and capable of handling an array of disciplines, including jumping, which demands a tall effort out of a small horse.

With a TheraPlate, achieving fitness is as easy as stepping on to the therapy platform. TheraPlate Revolution Therapy Platforms is dedicated to helping horses achieve the fitness levels necessary to excel in any discipline or, in Magico+/’s case, multiple disciplines. TheraPlate’s benefits include increased bone strength, muscle mass, hoof growth, and circulation; reduced inflammation, injuries, pain, healing time, and stress; and improved balance, joint health, and function.
