AU-DELÀ DES PISTES TO ORGANISE THE FIRST RETRAINED RACEHORSES DAY OF 2017 AT LE LION D’ANGERS RACECOURSE ON THURSDAY 25TH MAY

The French retraining of racehorses charity Au-Delà Des Pistes is delighted to announce the first Retrained Racehorse Day of 2017 will take place at Le Lion D’Angers racecourse (in the West of France) on Thursday 25th May. This event takes place on the same day as the running of the mythic « Anjou Loire Challenge » race, the longest cross-country race in the world run over 4.5 miles.

Following the same format as the first ADDP event held last August at the Deauville-La Touques racecourse, demonstrations by ex-racehorses will be held in between races, including Horse-Ball, Dressage and Show-jumping. A “Parade of Champions” composed of local equine stars will also take place in the paddock.

In organising this event, in partnership with Le Lion d’Angers racecourse, ADDP wants to show both the general public and racing professionals, the huge versatility of the thoroughbred and their adaptability to various equestrian sports after the end of their racing careers.

Similar events are due to be held throughout the year on different racecourses notably:
*Sunday 9th July at Chantilly racecourse (G1 Prix Jean Prat)
*Saturday 26th August at Deauville-La Touques racecourse
*Sunday 3rd September at Craon racecourse
*Saturday 4th & Sunday 5th November at Auteuil racecourse
