JAN CLARKE - My two main passions in life are Arabian horses and endurance riding. I bought my first Arab, Za-Zaan (Legend of Europe Zellah) in 1978 and sadly lost him in 2006 on his 29th birthday. We started competing in endurance in 1984 and Ive been hooked ever since. I have competed and crewed all over the UK, and in France, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands and Spain. Through the kindness and generosity of owners I have had the very good fortune to ride some excellent horses, including Kina Murrays Elleon (Galeon El-Era) and for the late Cheryl Logan the incomparable Khairho (Zourrak Kasbana) With luck 2008 will see me out and about competing my lovely young gelding Elliott (Premier El-Era), bred by Kina.DE WOLFF - Equine PhotographyWolff Photography and Focus Equus are agencies of Erwin de Wolff, photographer, and Brigitte de Wolff, journalist. Together they also manage Nasheeta Arabians, a versatile sport horse stable in the Netherlands. Currently they own five sports horses with performance records in endurance, TREC, cattle penning, barrel racing and working equitation. Their precious herd consists of two pure-bred Arabians, two part-breds and one majestic and rare Lipizzan. Brigitte and Erwin enjoy their travels to cover stories and photograph horses and nature. They get their inspiration by meeting many lovely people and wonderful horses everywhere. Everyone has an individual story to tell them and with their inner and outer beauty, the horses tell their own story when captured by Erwin's camera.www.focusequus.comwww.wolffphotography.nlwww.nasheeta.comFOCUS EQUUS - Focus Equus is a Press & PR Agency which contributes to several international magazines and newsletters. Our agency consists of Erwin de Wolff, photographer, and Brigitte Kilian, writer. We have been familiar with the Arabian breeding world for around 10 years and, as endurance riders, we are also acquainted with several of the Dutch top endurance riders. We compete mainly in endurance and TREC, but are also interested in other disciplines such as dressage and cattle penning. We have our own part-bred and pure-bred Arabian breeding herd and recently bred our first litter of greyhound x whippet dogsERIC G JONES - From a very young age I have been a keen photographer and my equestrian work started as a hobby and grew to a full-time job. My main work is in endurance riding. I am at a domestic competition every weekend throughout the season from March to October - and I have travelled with British teams all over Europe to major international competitions. I undertake stud and yard visits and enjoy photographic portrait work - equine, canine and human! Another interest of mine is pastel portraiture and examples of my work can be found on my website.CAROL MAGINN - Carol has had a love affair with Arabian horses since she began riding at the age of four. I became involved with the Arabian horse breed around 10 years ago and have never looked back. I have a real soft spot for the Crabbet bloodlines and I very proudly own the successful ridden mare Silvern Sheena. I breed occasionally and show in hand. I enjoy writing and have been lucky enough to combine this with my passion for promoting fellow Arabian enthusiasts and reporting on events by writing for The Arabian Magazine since its inception in 2005.SUZANNE RESS - Suzanne Ress has been writing for most of her life, and as an equine journalist specializing in alL aspects of the Arabian horse since 2003. She dreamed of owning and riding Arabian horses as a young child, but was unable to fulfill that dream until her own children were old enough to ride. She is from Massachusetts, U.S.A., but lives in northern ItalyELIZABETH SALMON - Elizabeth has been with the Arabian breed since 1963, with a prior background of teaching and showjumping. She and her late husband, Ronald Salmon, bred Purebreds and Anglos at Fairfield Stud in the UK until 1980. That year, she was appointed Director of Equine Science at a Texas university. In 1986, she left the university and has been freelancing as a consultant and journalist. She has been judging Arabians for over 35 years, and has judged all over the world. Her present husband, Phil Crabill, sometimes accompanies her, taking photos for her articles. She continues her career as an international judge, journalist and consultant, as well as appearing as an expert witness in US court cases. A recent highlight was evaluating the whole Imperial Straight Egyptian herd before they were sold.www.lizsalmon.comPAUL SIMMONS - I spent my formative years competing in show jumping, cross country, ODE and endurance competitions on my family's part-bred Arabs. In 1998 I bought my first two pure-bred Arabians Aliesha and Sweet Simplicity who became the foundation mares of my Zayin Arabian Stud. In 1999, I raced them both as an owner/trainer/jockey and won The Heart of England Maiden Stakes at Stratford with Sweet Simplicity, fulfilling my lifelong ambition to ride a winner racing. The stud now numbers nearly 11 horses and is based in Charlwood, Surrey, with various bloodlines representing influential endurance and racing families. I will have my first homebred runners racing in 2006. I have been the Arabian Racing Organisation's Official Reporter since 2002 and I also write for the weekly national paper The Weekender.SWEET PHOTOGRAPHY - Peter and Marilyn Sweet have been photographing Arabian horses for the past 30 years and are regularly seen in the show-ring at events across the country.
