Preview: The 2017 AHO World Cup & AHO Breeders’ Championship Europe, Chantilly 

This weekend sees the fifth running of the Arabian Horse Organization (AHO) Breeders’ Championship Europe and also the third edition of the AHO World Cup. Both events will take place at the Chantilly Polo Club between 3 and 6 August.

Both shows are organised by the AHO and they draw draw huge entries from across Europe and the Middle East, the latter competing in the AHO World Cup, and competition this year looks to be as exciting as ever.

Trophies

The AHO Breeders’ Championship Europe is organised for breeders in Europe and offers prize money. The top seven in each class receives €1,000 Euro. In addition, the Best Handler and Best Breeder are awarded €5,000 each. There are strict entry rules – including that the horse must be born in Europe and be entirely owned by the European breeder.

Prize money

The AHO World Cup is an open international event welcoming breeders and owners from all around the world to participate in the capital of horses, Chantilly.

The event will start with the AHO World Cup at 2pm local time on Thursday 3 August, with the AHO Breeder’s Championship Europe commencing on Saturday 5 August, also at 2pm. For more information, visit www.ahosite.org.

Mountassir - grey stallion

This year’s show is located in the royal forests surrounding Paris in the farming village of Apremont, the Chantilly Polo Club offers the highest international standards for visitors and competitors and is set in the beautiful landscape of Picardie. This part of France was made famous by the grandson of King Louis XIV, including the exquisite Chateau de Chantilly and the beautiful Grand Stables built in the 18th century. The AHO is very proud to host its shows at such a venue.
