Al Shira’aa Arabian Horse Show Part III

The penultimate day of the show was all about the boys, with the rest of the colt classes as well as the first age group of stallions. A quick look in the catalogue showed that there were some exceptional horses forward, and the classes definitely confirmed it.

The two-year old colts kicked off the day’s showing, again split into two sections with 18 and 17 horses forward respectively. The first section was won by the beautiful Mutabahi Al Hawajer, who scored five 20s for head and neck as well as three for type to finish with a score of 92.75 points. Sired by FA El Rasheem (FA El Shawan x Virtuosa MLR) and out of ZT Magrumi (ZT Magnanimus x ZT Rumifantasty), Mutabahi Al Hawajer is a maternal half-brother to Halhola Al Hawajer who had already shone in the yearling filly classes, and is bred by Dr Ghanem Mohamad Obaid Alhajri, illustrating such a strong breeding programme within his Al Hawajer Stud. The successful colt Mahasin de Cartherey (R’Adjah de Cartherey x Wadi’Ha de Cartherey) claimed the second place with a score of 92.13 points, bred and owned by Chantal Rigat of France. In third place with 91.75 points was the very pretty and typey Al Aryam Shklaan, a compact colt by Excalibur EA (Shanghai EA x Essence of Marwan EA) and out of Al Aryam Shakeera (Ora el Masri x JJ Salina), bred and owned by Al Aryam Arabians.

The three-year old colts were also split, with 15 and 16 forward in each section. The excellent moving Emar AVI took the win with 92.5, including three 20s for movement and two for type. Sired by Empire (Enzo x Emira), he is out of El Medisa (Shanghai EA x Emfonia) and he is an impressive colt. Bred by Czeslaw Josef Galaszewski of Poland, Emar AVI is owned by Al Jawaher Arabian Horse Stud. Tying with first place but losing out on movement was A.L.R Alrasheed (FA El Rasheem x Aria Marquesa), a very masculine colt bred by Yousif Mohamed Ali Mohamed Al Rasheed and owned by Yousif Mohamed Ali Al Rasheed. The charismatic and typey D Jubran (FA EL Rasheem x D Thoraya) took third place with 91.75 points, including two 20s for type, for his owner Alfalah Arabian Stud being bred by Dubai Arabian Stud.

This colt scored three 20s for type and two for head/neck to earn a total of 92.13 points. He is by FA El Rasheem and out of Lailac (Marwan al Shaqab x Lora). The junior stallion class for those aged four-to-six years was huge! Split into two, there were 24 and 26 stallions forward in each, quite incredible. Section A saw the highest score of the show with a win by E.S Prince, a truly outstanding young stallion with type, movement, good structure and beauty. Scoring 93.38 points with eight 20s across type and head/neck, he really was the standout of the show so far. Sired By E.S Sarab (Marajj x Mahjesty) and out of Raghad al Nasser (Imperial Mahzeer x MS Elvira), he is bred and owned by Sheikh Abdulla Bin Majid Al Qassemi. The almost ethereal Edwan al Zobair (SMA Magic One x Mahrisa) took second place with a great score of 92.63 points, including four 20s for type and one for movement. A flamboyant stallion with pretty face, he was bred by Sheikh Abdulla bin Mohammed Ali Al Thani and owned by Mohthab Arabian Horse Stud. Tied with second was KA Nabras (Shanghai EA x AJ Nazwa) who lost out on type marks but is a very elegant stallion with good type and beauty and he really does have something about him. His score of 92.63 included four 20s for type and head/neck, and this stallion is owned and bred by Khaled Ghanem Mubarak Al Omairi.
