The 2007 competition is now closed and these are the results .

We received some amazing entries to our 2007 Show Season Competition, open to amateur photographers across the world. Many of you decided to become snap-happy over the summer and several of you went through your archives, searching for that winning photograph.

The junior section received just a handful of entries and while promise was shown, it was decided to amalgamate the juniors with the seniors in the search for our winner. That meant that while there would only be one winner, additional prizes would be given.

Representing the junior section, Danielle Pegley was decided to have the most potential and she will spend some time with Sweet Photography next summer to learn how to further improve her photography skills. Highly commended in this section goes to Katie Gore, who receives an Equus Eye Sculpture kindly donated by Sally Reece.

The senior section offered a host of wonderful photographs, several of which could have won. Taking a wonderful photograph entitled Foal Fun, Carol Norman-Vincenot was the clear winner here. Her photograph is gracing the front of our 2008 Brooke Hospital Charity Calendar and she will be able to spend time speaking to Erwin Escher to glean further advice on how to capture the Arabian horse through her photographs.

Carol also wins the limited edition print Power and Grace, donated by Conversation Pieces.

Highly commended prizes were awarded to Abdulaziz Alturki and Gemma Cornick, who will each receive an Arabian Magazine goodie-bag, while Lesley Sanderson, Maria Olarte, Sarah Wilkinson and Simon Clyma were all commended for their photographs.

A special mention must be made to a wonderful photograph sent in by Jenny Somers, which shows the immortal Aliha and her daughter Atlantica at a British show.

Congratulations to all entrants the quality of photographs sent was high and it was a shame that there could only be one winner.

We are already looking forward to next years Show Season Competition, due to be unveiled in March.

Competition rules

1. A maximum of five entries is allowed per person

2. All entrants must be subscribers to The Arabian Magazine

3. Those donating prizes are not allowed to enter the competition

4. The judge's decision is final

5. The Arabian Magazine does not take responsibility for any photos that go missing in the post

6. Photos will not be returned, so please ensure that you have your own copy

7. Entry into the competition entitles The Arabian Magazine to publish your photo in future issues of the magazine, on the website or in other related media

8. Entrants' names will be published alongside their photographs

9. The winner and runners-up will be notified in writing by 30 November 2007

10. No cash alternatives to the prizes will be offered.
